Specialty Fibre Fusion Splice Machines
Fusion Splicer Machine
ArcMaster FSM-100M and 100P
Fujikura's specialty splicers, FSM-100M and FSM-100P are able to splice various types of specialty fibers such as photonic crystal fibers, (PCF) holey structured fibers and conventional silica large diameter fibers (LDF) up to 500 micron clad diameter using patented 'Split V-groove' fiber clamping system. With a new fiber imaging technology, Interrelation Profile Alignment 2 (IPA2), alignment and splicing capabilities are possible with virtually any PM fiber type.
ArcMaster FSM-100M+ and 100P+
Fujikura's new specialty splicers FSM-100M+ and FSM-100P+ are able to splice various type of specialty fibers, such as photonic crystal fibers (PCF), holey structured fibers and X-LDF (Extra Large Diameter Fibers) up to 1200 micron clad diameter thanks to patented 'Split V-groove' fiber clamping system. FSM-100P+ can align polarization maintaining (PM) fibers using Interrealtion Profile Alignment 2 (IPA2) and End view systems.
Lazer Splicer Machine
LAZERMaster LZM-100 Laser Splicing System
The LZM-100 LAZERMaster is a glass processing and splicing system that uses a CO2 laser heat source rather than electrodes, ensuring repeatable performance and low maintenance, and eliminating electrode or filament maintenance and instability. Splicing or adiabatic tapering (to create mode field adapters or pump combiners) can be performed with glass diameters of 2.3 mm or more. The high resolution optical analysis system works in conjunction with on-board firmware for fully automatic splicing, tapering and other glass shaping processes.
LZM-125 Series
The LAZERMaster LZM-125 Series is a splicing and glass processing system that uses a CO2 laser heat source to perform splicing, tapering (to create MFAs), lensing, or other glass shaping operations with glass diameters of 2.0 mm or less. The high resolution optical analysis system works in conjunction with onboard firmware for fully automatic splicing, tapering and other glass shaping processes.
Fibre Preparation
Automatic Preparation Machine
The APM-101 achieves high speed and reliable performance in the preparation of optical fibre before splicing. Reducing fibre breakage plus the possibility of low quality cleaving results, the APM-101 automatically performs coating stripping, cleaning and cleaving of the optical fibre to improve and streamline operation times.
Polyimide Coating Stripper
Polyimide based optical fibers are now widely used in the oil & gas and medical industries. The polyimide coating has superior heat and chemical resistance to conventional UV curable coating material, but the coating requires additional care to remove. Dangerous chemical stripping using hot sulfuric acid or burning the coating off are common methods to strip the fiber due to the thin coating and strong coating adhesion to the fiber cladding. The PCS-100 (polyimide fiber coating stripper) is the first tool that uses mechanical stripping method, providing safe, consistent and quick stripping solutions.
Ultrasonic Cleaner
The USC-03 Ultrasonic Cleaner is specially designed for fast and efficient cleaning of the fibre ends before splicing.
The USC-03 is dedicated for use with Fujikura's very own FSM-40, 50, 60 and 100 Series fibre holder systems for high tensile strength splicing.
The USC-03 has a built-in timer which can be set from 0 to 99 seconds, it's compact in design and weighing just 1 kg is also ideal for field use. The cleaner incorporates its own 50 KHZ Langevin type vibration unit for fast thorough cleaning. It has a cleaning tank capacity of 24 to 36cc and includes an external AC adapter.
HTS-12
The HTS-12 is designed for stripping single count of silica optical fiber by keeping the stripped fiber's glass surface free from any physical contact.
In order to achieve the above condition, the HTS-12 has a precise linear slide base for stripping action. The fiber is not scuffed by the blade or any other materials when being stripped.
The HTS-12 is equipped with a heater to soften the fiber coating. The HTS-12 accepts the FH-40 and FH-100 series Fiber Holder System.
Fibre Optic Cleavers
CT-52
The CT52 cleaver is designed for use with Fujikura factory model fusion splicers. Modified clamping pads on the CT52 allow for shorter cleave lengths with fibre coating >250 μm.
CT-58
The CT58 cleaver is designed specifically for cleaving silica fibres with 80 μm cladding and up to 400 μm coatings.
CT-101/102
The CT-101/CT-102 is designed for cleaving silica fibres from 80 to 250 micron cladding. The CT-101/CT-102 is equipped with a motorized diamond blade that touches the fiber after tension has been applied providing high-strength cleaving capability. The diamond blade provides consistent cleaving quality and the cleave length can be modified from 3 to 40 mm. The cleave angle is adjustable from 0 to 15 degrees. It runs on AC or battery power.
